Sephora Love Note Shopping Event 2016 HAUL

Who can resist sales? I sure can’t. When Sephora announced their annual spring sale, I immediately placed a few items in my cart. My biggest and most rewarding purchase this year is the Cosmocube Luxury Makeup Organizer. It was worth every dollar – I regret nothing. It’s been sitting on my vanity for a week now and I still can’t stop admiring it. For you neat freaks and perfectionists out there … YOU NEED ONE IN YOUR LIFE. RIGHT NOW.

The rest of my first order (note I said first which means there will be second part 😉 consists of:

  1. Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry
  2. Givenchy Prisme Libre 2 Taffetas Beige

  3. Yves Saint Laurent Instant Moisture Glow
  4. Viseart Eyeshadow & Eyebrow Palette

  5. BURBERRY Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt Pen (Pale Copper 106 & Midnight Brown 108)

Samples:

  • Fresh Crème Ancienne® Soft Cream
  • NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer
  • Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Liquid Foundation SPF 20

This won’t be a review / swatch post simply because I always like my reviews to be in-depth, if not, true to the test. If I review an item, it means I have tested it a few times, maybe with different applications each time and really paid attention to it’s quality (such as longevity, ease-of-application, scents, etc.) Instead, this post is really just what caught my eye and what my bank account hates me for now.

STARTING OFF WITH……. Hair!

Bumble and Bumble Surf Foal Spray Blow Dry

Bumble and Bumble has always been a brand that I wanted to try for a long time. I was browsing Sephora one day during my break at work (yep…) and came across one of the new releases from B&B. The Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry is a hybrid between a mousse and a salt spray formula for big, beachy texture. It provides the volume you get from a salt spray while also protecting your hair from the sun because it contains coconut water and UVA/UVB filters. What better item to test out for summer?!

Can’t forget MY FACE.

Givenchy Prisme Libre 2 Taffetas Beige

Next is the Givenchy Prisme Libre in 2 Taffetas Beige. If you have been following me in instagram, you must know I love my Givenchy Prisme Libre in 1 Mousseline Pastel so much that I bought the Original Loose Powder. With the Sephora sale I couldn’t resist getting a different shade (2 Taffetas Beige). As opposed to reducing imperfections and correcting redness that you get from Mousseline Pastel, Taffetas Beige is a “cocktail of beiges, apricot and yellow, which delivers a healthy glow in just one stroke of a brush”. I’m really excited to try this and if it’s anything like the ones I already have, I’m sure I’ll fall in love. Again.

YSL Instant Moisture Glow

The YSL Instant Moisture Glow is an innovative formula that brings together a moisturizer with a primer. It is meant to be a lightweight formula that glides on to hydrate whilst bluring imperfections – isn’t that something. I’ve heard many nice things about this, especially for those with dry skin, so I had to get it.

The EYES are the… black holes to my wallet.

VISEART Eyeshadow & Brow Palette

VISEART recently launched their smaller eyeshadow palettes but I was really interested in their Eyeshadow & Eyebrow Palette. It has 3 wax-based eyebrow shades and 9 TRUE MATTE eyeshadows. I’ve heard the formula may not be as pigmented as their other palettes, which are geared towards the eyes, but they still provide a very decent colour payoff and serve as a multi-purpose palette for brows. I’d love to make a comparison post between VISEART and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Palette (which I will do!)

The last two items are the Burberry Eye Colour Smoke & Sculpt Pens which I’ve been eyeing for a very long time now. I love cream colour sticks for their portability, ease of application and phenomenal wear-time. (By Terry Ombre Blackstar sticks are by far my favourite) The Burberry Pens are claiming to be a creamy and blendable formula that is both crease-free and waterproof for an all-day flawless finish. There are currently 7 neutral shades – I can’t wait to see how these compare to the rest of my collection!

As for samples… the one item I’m really eyeing but really hope I don’t end up falling in love with… is the Fresh Creme Ancienne Soft Cream. The selling points are really really captivating and make the cream sound like a miracle concoction but the price point is pretty scary.

That’s it. That’s all.

What did you get from the Sephora Love Note event?

  1. Great haul Kelly! And I do appreciate that you take the time to write in depth reviews instead of hastily posting up a blog post just for the sake of it.

I picked up maybe one too many things as well but who could really resist a sale?
