Good morning, good afternoon, good evening!
I’ve been experimenting with my blog lately. I would like to make a combination of shorter reviews (maybe even just swatches or product shots etc. with a few words) because each comprehensive blog post as it is takes a good full day to complete (I’m very picky). I really hope my thoughts and swatches help you (especially for products you can’t physically test in store) so I would love to find a way to better convey that to you. I have always been a very visual person and followed the saying: “A picture is worth a thousand words.” In the future, I may incorporate more photos in a creative manner rather than having many paragraphs to read (of course you can always skim though).
Without further ado, let’s introduce my first Guerlain Bronzer : The Terracotta in Natural 02.

The Terracotta powder by Guerlain naturally reproduces varying shades of the sun, offering women an instant natural glow, at any time of year, in one quick, easy motion. Its formula, enriched with moisturizing active ingredients, does not dry out the skin. It ensures long-lasting comfort. To be used in all over or to contour and sculpt your tan. Mistake proof.

This bronzer is actually the exact same formula and shade as the original Terracotta. This particular one is Limited Edition for Summer 2016 simply from the gorgeous twisted rope embossing and red silicone case (which can be removed very easily if it gets dirty).
The compact contains 10 grams of product (0.35 oz) and is valued at 64 CAD (55$ US).
For reference, other bronzers listed below (in CAD):
- CHARLOTTE TILBURY Bronze & Glow = 80$ for 0.56 oz (this contains a highlighter and bronzer, so if you halve the price its 40$ for 0.28 oz)
- BURBERRY Warm Glow = 54$ for 0.35 oz
- NARS Laguna Bronzer = 52$ for 0.28oz
- GIVENCHY Poudre Bonne Mine Healthy Glow Powder = 60$ for 0.24 oz
How to apply:
For me, I like to follow the recommended application method by Guerlain: using a brush, trace a figure “3” on each side of the face focusing on the the raised areas, from the forehead to the cheekbones, then from the cheekbones to the chin. It’s perfect for a natural sun-kissed look, especially for summer time!

The Guerlain Terracotta has very subtle shimmer which helps to gather light on your face and enhance features for a sun-kissed glow. It is a warmer, red-toned bronzer compared to others.
I find that it applies smoothly and blends very well; however, the scent may be overpowering for some. In the pan, it is very heavily scented but slightly less when applied on the face and fades throughout the day.
If you have very sensitive skin or you are very sensitive to scented products, I would avoid this one. Otherwise this is a very natural bronzer which is optimal for the summer months 🙂

Kelly,
I must first say that I always look forward to your posts because they are always very thorough, with amazing product photography and details. I do know the conflict you are experiencing with writing a shorter post to get it up vs. taking an insurmountable amount of time to get it right. I feel you! I appreciate the time you took to do comparison swatches. Lovely review as always. I’m tempted to purchase!

Thanks Dom. I find my style has always been to put as much detail as possible because I like condensing information into one accessible post. I think I’ll try to do a combination of posts, both thorough and simple reviews depending on the product. Thank you so much for your input and I really value the time you take to comment Dom!
I appreciate and value you! Thank you for taking the time to read and comment as well! Enjoy your weekend!

It is so pretty to look at! I would love to collect their limited edition bronzers over time just to admire them 😛
I’d do the same thing LOL. The Guerlain Pause D’Ete Bronzing Face Duo is even prettier ❤ Shall be reviewing it soon!
